Party, Party, Party!

Friday night was party night for us students at Language Link. Now we don’t ever really need an excuse to party but this week it was our friend Simon’s 21st so we headed off to a Georgian restaurant just off the Novy Arbat for some food and drinks. Everything that happened was so stereotypically Russian it was hilarious. The service was literally awful- orders were forgotten, service was slow, it took on average 20 minutes for a beer to be poured and then taken to the table (even though we were the only guests in the restaurant!) It took my food order over an hour to be made and my friend’s order, which was exactly the same as mine took another 40 minutes after that! But by far the funniest part of the night was the ‘Entertainment’ they provided; One Russian man singing popular songs in English and dancing more or less like Borat for us and not quite understanding why exactly we were in hysterics. The video below is an extract from ‘Money, Money, Money’ by Abba halfway through you can see some of my friends looking somewhat bemused and scared. Oh you need to tilt you head or your PC if you’re feeling strong as the camera angle changes part way through to allow for a better view of the dancing. Enjoy!
