Action Taken

For those of you who haven't heard or haven't read Cheese Grater's latest issue. The UCL AGM has been declared null and void and the General Secretary has been suspended following disciplinary action. Democracy has returned to UCL ^_^ The AGM has been rescheduled for May and disciplinary proceedings will take place first week of third term.

Horray!

I am not fan of the Iraq war, but banning troops from UCLU was completely the wrong way to protest against it. If students are so opposed to the war they need to take this issue up with the government. They should not discriminate against the men and women who are simply doing their job.

Unfortunately, I bet the papers with not give this positive step the same attention as it gave the original decision. I hope the reputations of UCLU and the students at our university have not been damaged to much by this.
